Quick start
Server Identity
Shown in the server browser. Keep it under ~63 characters.
Sets sv_password. Leave blank for a public server.
Remote admin console. Use a strong, unique one.
Sets sv_region for the browser filter.
Gamemode & Map (launch line)
The gamemode folder name. Goes on the launch line as +gamemode.
+map on the launch line. Map must exist on the server.
+maxplayers. Most GMod servers run 16–64.
-tickrate. Higher = smoother but more CPU.
Workshop & Content
Goes on the launch line as +host_workshop_collection. Players auto-download every addon in the collection on join.
Launch line +sv_setsteamaccount. Public servers should set one (app id 4000) — without it your server can be hidden or de-ranked. Keep it secret.
A web host of your content. Clients download from here instead of the slow in-game route.
