Minecraft server.properties Generator

Every setting explained in plain English. Configure your server, see what each option actually does, and copy or download a clean server.properties. Updates live as you type.

Identity
The message shown under your server in the multiplayer list. Supports color codes with § (section sign), e.g. §6Gold §lBold.
Default 25565. On shared/panel hosts this is assigned for you — don't change it unless told to.
How many can join at once. More players = more RAM and CPU.
Leave blank in almost all cases — the server binds to all interfaces. Only set this if you know you need a specific bind address.
Gameplay
peaceful = no hostile mobs and natural health regen.
World
The folder your world saves to. Change it to swap between multiple worlds.
Leave blank for a random world. Only applies when the world is first generated.
amplified is very CPU-heavy. flat is great for creative/minigame servers.
Radius (blocks) around spawn only ops can build in. 0 = off.
World border radius cap. Lower it to limit map size + disk use.
Performance
Chunks sent to players. The biggest performance lever. 6–8 for big/low-end servers, 10 is default.
Chunks where mobs, crops, and redstone actually tick. Lowering this saves the most CPU.
How far away entities are sent to clients (percent). Lower (e.g. 75) reduces bandwidth/CPU on busy servers.
Packets above this byte size get compressed. -1 disables it (good for LAN); default 256.
Players & Access
Auto-kick AFK players after N minutes. 0 = never. Useful on full, popular servers.
Permission level datapack functions run at.
RCON & Query (advanced)
Required if RCON is on. Never reuse your account password.
Resource Pack (optional)
A direct download link to a .zip. Leave blank for none.

Upload this as server.properties in your server's root folder, then restart. On Solace, drop it in via the panel file editor or SFTP. Most version-specific settings live in the Startup tab, not this file.

Defaults follow the official server.properties reference. Some properties (version, JAR type, RAM) are set in your host's panel, not this file. Found a bug? Tell us in Discord.
